Dr. Jennifer Grimes-Vawters, Clinical Professional Counselor of Collaborative Counseling and Co-Founder and Executive Director of Aspire Wellness. She has over 16 years combined experience in the field of mental health (MH). Dr. Grimes is an Alma mater of the University of Nevada, Reno, where she received her Bachelors in Psychology. She graduated in February 2017 with her Ph.D. from Walden University in counseling psychology.
As a Clinical Professional Counselor, Dr. Grimes-Vawters is dedicated to providing the community with the best of mental health and wellness services. She saw a problem in Reno, and that was that there is a hole in the system to where many people do not have realistic access to MH care. Working with her Co-Founder, Erin Fey (MFT), Dr. Grimes has created this small agency with the hopes of building an all-inclusive mental health and wellness center.
Jennifer was raised in Incline Village, Nevada. She has lived in Reno for the past 22 years. Having been raised, and now raising her own family, in the Truckee Meadows area has instilled in her the importance of community, and our community efforts. When she is not trying to change the world or raise a family, Jennifer has her own practice, Collaborative Counseling: providing individual, couple, and family therapy.
Erin Fey is a native to the Northern Nevada community. She received her bachelors of science degree from the University of Nevada Reno in 2004. Specializing in behavioral analysis and psychiatric casework, Erin graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Master’s Degree in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy in 2012. Throughout this process, she gained extensive field experience as a practitioner of mental health services
In her private practice, Erin Fey works primarily with children and adolescents, overseeing multiple therapeutic foster home agencies in Reno, NV. However, she has years of prior experience with individual, couples, and family therapy. Erin specializes in trauma focused therapy along with cognitive behavioral interventions.
In conjunction with her private practice and community evolvement, Erin found a need in the community for affordable, local mental health care services. She and her respected colleague Jennifer Grimes-Vawters developed a plan of providing these much-needed services in the spring of 2016. In 2017, Aspire Wellness opened its doors as a non-profit focused on providing access to affordable mental health services to individuals in our community.
